A treadmill in a ground-floor garage is not the same collection as the identical machine in an upstairs bedroom. Alongside make, model and condition, give the floor, stair turns, lift dimensions, doorway width, parking distance and whether dismantling is required.
Photograph the equipment in position and show the route out. A buyer can plan around an awkward corner if they know about it before arrival.
Identify and test before moving anything
Photograph the model and rating label, console, belt or resistance unit, power supply and included parts. Test normal operation from a safe position and record error codes exactly. Do not continue using equipment with damaged cables, unstable frames, severe cracks or unusual heat.
For a manual machine, check adjustment points, rollers, bearings, handles and fasteners. A product can look clean while having a loose seat, rough rail or damaged locking mechanism.
Measure the equipment and the route
Record assembled length, width, height and approximate weight from the manual where possible. Then measure the narrowest door, tightest turn and any lift. A few accurate numbers prevent a failed collection.
Do not assume a folding treadmill or cross-trainer becomes light. Folding changes the shape, not the mass. Secure the deck only according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Barbells need a complete inventory
A barbell set may include an Olympic or standard bar, collars, plates, storage and attachments. Record bar length, sleeve diameter, stated capacity and every plate weight. Photograph bends, rust and sleeve condition.

Punching bags can be awkward in different ways
A hanging bag may be heavy, high and attached to a bracket. A freestanding bag may contain water or sand in its base. Explain the type, filled weight, height, chains, bracket and access route.
For a punching bag assessment, show tears, leaks, worn straps and the condition of the base or hanging hardware. Do not empty or detach it until the collection plan is agreed.
Small fitness items still need useful condition notes
A yoga mat is easy to carry, but material, thickness, surface wear, odour, tears and cleanliness all matter. List blocks, straps or a bag only when included. The yoga mat quotation page gives a more suitable set of questions than a bulky machine form.
For dumbbells, kettlebells and weight plates, count every item and state the individual weights. Matching pairs and complete adjustable sets should be photographed together.
Dismantling needs a plan
Only dismantle equipment as agreed, using the manufacturer’s instructions. Photograph cable routing and hardware positions, bag fasteners by step and label larger parts. Keep manuals, keys, safety clips and proprietary tools with the machine.
Do not cut cables, force seized bolts or remove a tensioned component because collection is approaching. A competent dismantling service may be needed for larger commercial equipment.
Protect floors and walls without creating a lifting hazard
Clear rugs, toys and loose objects from the route. Use suitable floor protection that will not slide under load. Keep doors fully open and remove fragile wall decorations near tight turns.
Children and pets should stay away from the collection area. The equipment, tools and open doorway create avoidable risks.
Use enough people and suitable equipment
Heavy fitness machines often have an uneven centre of gravity. A motor, flywheel or weight stack can make one end far heavier than the other. Use appropriate moving equipment and enough capable people. Do not rely on the seller to provide lifting help unless that has been discussed and is safe.

Run a final check before collection
